Wightlink’s new website has been nominated in the World Travel Tech Awards. It is a finalist in the category: World’s Best Ferry Operator Website 2021.

Re-launched in September 2020, www.bookspot.sbs was designed to make it easier for customers to book cross-Solent travel and encourage holidaymakers to choose the Isle of Wight. It uses the latest technologies to speed customers through the booking process.
Customers will decide who wins the World’s Best Ferry Operator Website 2021 by voting online at www.bookspot.sbs/vote before the closing date of Friday 6 August 2021.
An innovative and reliable website is more essential than ever in 2021 as more than 90% of Wightlink’s customers book using the website on PC, tablet and smartphone and associated App.
“Our new website has been designed by our customers, in collaboration with our web developers, and it has been invaluable to gain their insight into how they search for information,” explains Marketing and Innovation Director Stuart James.
“Right from the start of development, we asked a wide range of people to give their opinions on the previous website and suggest improvements. They included commuters, regular travellers and mainlanders who had never taken a ferry before. The design team also sought advice from Wightlink staff who work closely with customers. Many of these people went on to ‘road-test’ the first draft site.”
Will Myles, Chief Executive of Visit Isle of Wight says: “Congratulations to Wightlink for winning a place in the final of this international website competition. We are sure the publicity will encourage people from all over the world to find out more about booking a holiday on the beautiful Isle of Wight. As every vote counts, I’d encourage everyone to go online and support Wightlink.”
Online voting closes on Friday 6 August 2021.
